MIDDLE AGES

As story flows, Man exercised more control over the world that surrounded him. With respect to copper, a feature of our age (AC), it was the complete development of metal exploitation techniques as from the element in its mineral state, not longer depending on the native metal.

Research works are more likely to tend on the military use of metals as one of the first needs to be analyzed during Middle Ages, such as the manufacture of axes, blades, helmets, cuirasses and a wide variety of war tools. On the other side, it was also evident the presence of copper and its alloys in light-carrier utensils (candleholders, candlesticks, torches, tenebrous, oil lamps, lamp lanterns, palm lamps, among others).

Once lighting was controlled with the help of copper, weather control could be considered as the most immediate need middle-age man should solve in its daily life. Evidence of the use of braziers, which through romanticism and gothic trends were disseminated until representing an indispensable house furniture.

The maximum splendor and display in copper control and handling would have been reached to cover another basic need, which was to keep things. In this manner, there appeared coffers, jewelry boxes, small chests, urns and a wide range of coffers, boxes and casings.
